Binance CEO Warns of Phishing Scams
Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao warned the cryptocurrency community to be careful of phishing and other social engineering scams in a July 21 tweet. This cautionary statement was in response to the recent hack of Uniswap (UNI) founder Hayden Adams‘ Twitter account. CZ urged users to enable two-factor authentication with a hardware device on all cryptocurrency exchanges as an additional layer of security against such attacks.
Uniswap Founder Regains Access To Breached Twitter Account
On July 20, malicious players took control of Adams‘ Twitter account and posted several messages, including one asking followers for crypto donations. Following this incident, Adams regained access to his account and tweeted that he had taken steps to make sure this would not happen again. He also thanked everyone who offered their assistance during this time, while advising people not to trust any links sent from his profile until further notice.
Data Of 500 Million WhatsApp Users Leaked On The Internet
In order to emphasize the importance of following security protocols especially when it comes to online transactions, CZ shared a link from February which stated that data belonging to around 500 million Whatsapp users had been leaked on the internet. This included phone numbers from countries such as US, UK, Egypt, Italy, Saudi Arabia among others.
Hardware Devices For Additional Security Layer
The Binance CEO advised users that enabling two-factor authentication with a hardware device is one way of adding an extra layer of security against these types of threats as well as protecting user assets stored on exchanges or wallets securely.

Adams thanked those who showed support during this difficult time for him and reminded followers not to trust any links sent from his profile until further notice as he takes steps towards ensuring something like this does not occur again in future.
